Author Thaxson Patterson II answers the Pivot Questionnaire

Thaxson Patterson IIThaxson and I both have stories in “The Toll  of Another Bell” fantasy anthology (Xchyler Publishing, 2015). Mine is “The Year of No Foals“. His is “Life Under Research Conditions”: Can an inhuman bioweapon possess a human soul, and can it make choices to save humanity?

1. What is your favorite word?
I don’t really have one. I enjoy using them all and I’m always fascinated to learn and apply new ones.

2. What is your least favorite word?
Words I can’t spell without auto correct and spell checker.
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
I’m inspired by pretty much everything from literary giants like Neil Gaiman and Stephen King, to various art mediums including all genres of Anime, Cinema, Comics, Standup Comedy, & Music.
4. What turns you off?
In terms of my craft, I would say non-constructive criticism. And in the world, I’d say discrimination.
5. What is your favorite curse word?
I’m no Samuel L. Jackson. I tend to be parse with my usage of surly dialogue but when I do use coarse language I strictly adhere to George Carlin’s seven words you can’t say on network television.
6. What sound or noise do you love?
I don’t prefer a particular sound.
7. What sound or noise do you hate?
I find loud motorcycle hog engines to be annoying.
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Special Effects Supervisor on a major blockbuster movie, preferably directed by Spielberg, Cameron, or Peter Jackson.
9. What profession would you not like to do? Sewer Inspector.
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
